QEONE
I founded QEONE to feature a specific sound aesthetic, a certain kind of timbre. The whole concept is very close to nature, but in a modern and adventurous way. As our planet’s landscapes and its biotopes offer loads of colourful facets - romantic, funny, harsh, quirky, elegant, dangerous etc. - it is the best source of inspiration for my work in general and also for this label.
The focus lies on exceptional sound design, infectious grooves and the synaesthetic connection to nature. The genre boundaries of the catalogue are blurred, as broken and four to the floor beats in all kinds of BPM ranges and moods share the same platform.
Artists such as Vardae, Dycide, Kangding Ray, Primal Code, Zara, Innersha and more already presented their unique approach to music in the label’s catalogue.
QEONE is all about exploring the limits of sound sculpting, especially with its Various Artists series ‘GLYPHS’ in which the artists translate a particular material into music. Also the open call Various Artists series ‘LANDSCAPES’ goes into a similar direction - emerging talents can showcase their sound design skills within this concept.
Next to the releases, QEONE features Guest Mixes in its ‘Herbarium’ mix series. Bambi & Beatrice M., Timnah, Caldera, Sam Goku, DJ MARIA. and many more presented their synaesthetic translation of their favorite plant within this concept.
The SoundSculptors series highlights live sets only. Artists such as Xiaolin, Innersha, Joaquín Cornejo and more presented their unique approach to these kinds of performances. Each one of them comes with a little interview, to give some transparent insight into their concepts of live sets and their backgrounds. Some even took the chance to do audiovisual live performance collaborations.
To show how this particular sound language works on the dancer, the label also organises events in various cities around Europe. International artists as Kangding Ray, Piezo, Forest Drive West, Woody92, Konduku and more already played some intriguing sets for this purpose.
The visual design of the label also plays a major role - all works are created by myself, Lindsey Wang aka Polygonia. I use this platform to explore my love for illustrations and synaesthetic thinking about musical concepts.
